We would like to add all dissertations to our online library as well as submit them to a variety of subscription based service. Because we are adding more PhD programs, to speed up this process, we have split up the work as follows:
- ProQuest Dissertation & Thesis
-
Go to http://www.etdadmin.com and choose "Submit my dissertation/thesis.”
-
Select your school from the list provided.
-
Create an account or login using an existing account.
-
Once you create an account, the ETD Administrator will walk you through a simple process that involves accepting the publishing agreement and uploading the relevant files and information about your submission.
-
After you complete your submission, your graduate school administrator will review the submission before sending it to ProQuest Dissertation Publishing.
-
Note that all dissertations and theses must be submitted as a PDF document, BUT DO NOT upload your dissertation as a PDF file. Upload a Word file and let the site convert it using its conversion tool. For more information about creating PDF files, please see PDF Frequently Asked Questions.
-
If you are having problems with the formatting required by ProQuest, Send your finalized dissertation to joel.badal@ciu.edu – he will direct you to what you need to change.
- OVERDRIVE (https://ciu.overdrive.com/collection/1007897)
- OverDrive is the online platform for CIU dissertations. Only members of the CIU community have access. Printing is regulated to 10% of the dissertation only.
- Send finalized dissertation to kevin.flickner@ciu.edu. He will upload them into our secured platform.
- TREN (https://go.openathens.net/redirector/ciu.edu?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tren.com%2Fe-docs%2Fsearch.cfm)
- The Theological Research Exchange Network (TREN) is a library of over 10,000 theological thesis/dissertation titles representing research from as many as 70 different institutions.
- Students wishing to have their submission uploaded to TREN can do so be filling out this form (https://ciuedu.sharepoint.com/:b:/s/Library/EeCkR-iZV1BCmUz28URU4m8BeDLbkxx_-FsyAKoqZ4voRg?e=g9ekfj) and sending it back to Cindy Snell (cynthia.snell@ciu.edu) with their electronic dissertation. This is a free service unless copyright registration is desired.
- EBSCO OpenDissertations (https://web.s.ebscohost.com/ehost/search/advanced?vid=2&sid=c2dfcb5c-3c75-44ae-8d7a-1a9bb2dae048%40redis)
- Students can submit directly to EBSCO- Open Dissertations by completing the form at: https://dissertations.librariescreate.com/ or Cindy Snell can do it at the student’s request. To date, we have not submitted any dissertations to this service. However, this program is free for universities: more information can be found at: https://biblioboard.com/opendissertations/authors/ if there is an interest in using the service in the future.
- In summary – please send finalized dissertations to: kevin.flickner@ciu.edu, joel.badal@ciu.edu, cynthia.snell@ciu.edu – one email to all recipients in which a desired submission is requested is all that is needed.
